About Us
Home Veterinary Services
We are very excited to be able to offer a home veterinary service, changing the way we care for pets - and their owners - one home at a time. We aim to deliver a wide range of services carried out in the comfort and familiarity of your own home.
Our pricing model is also a bit different: we charge for our time and travel, with no markups on medications, so there’s absolutely no financial incentive for us to recommend unnecessary products.
While we offer many services at home, some procedures are not suitable outside a traditional clinic setting. Additionally, we may not be able to accommodate emergencies in a timely manner due to physical distance between our appointments. For this reason, we’ve partnered with West Edinburgh Vets in Corstorphine to provide any services we can’t offer at home, as well as emergency care during normal business hours.
Our Mission To Do Better
At Kelly Vets, our mission is simple: to do better in every aspect of veterinary care. We are committed to delivering exceptional, compassionate veterinary care that puts both pets and their families first.
We do this by focusing on four key areas that form the foundation of our business:
Better Personalised Care
We provide gold-standard and patient-tailored treatment plans by offering longer appointment times and thorough exams to ensure each pet receives individualised attention.
Better Relationships
No one knows your pet better than you, which is why we strive practice collaborative medicine based on mutual trust and respect. We promise transparent pricing and a welcoming, inclusive environment for all.
Better Stress Management
Our low-stress handling, calming techniques, and sedation options reduce stress during our home visits, ensuring a comfortable experience for pets and owners.
Better Community Involvement
Our business exists because members of our community open their hearts and homes to us. We don’t take that for granted. We give back through volunteering, supporting local charities, and dedicating profits to our Care Fund to assist clients or animals in need.
Meet the Team
Caitie Kelly
Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon
Some people collect rocks or stamps, but Caitie likes to collect degrees. With a dual honours degree in politics and sociology, Caitie brings her understanding and empathy for people into her veterinary practice. She graduated from the Dick Vet in 2020 and completed a research Master’s degree in Clinical Veterinary Studies in 2024.
After working in general practice and referral hospitals across central Scotland, Caitie decided to start Kelly Vets. Her motivation was to ensure every pet received the same level of attention and care she gives Rory, her heart-dog and love of her life — but we think she also just likes being the big boss-lady!
In her spare time, she enjoys annoying her three cats: Xena Warrior Sh*tten, Sir Frederick of Huntingdon, and Winston the Worst.
William Ruhlig
Digital and Marketing Support
Will joined the Kelly Vets team under duress: as one of Caitie’s close friends, he had very little choice in the matter! We have exploited his knowledge and expertise in information and graphic design and his keen artistic eye.
Will is responsible for all the beautiful print and media content that we have here on our website and, as an animal lover, also helps us out massively behind the scenes to ensure we provide an exceptional service to our patients! In exchange for all his hard work we reward him with his favourite treats - Chocolate Digestives.
Outside of Kelly Vets, Will explores the UK in his converted van with his cat, Thorin (not pictured - he was displaced by Sh*tten.) He also makes beautiful, custom pet portraits, which are available for commission.
Georgia Herriott
Social Media Lead & Vet Assistant
After a brief detour into a Literature degree, Georgia swiftly remembered that her first love was veterinary and she would much rather be wrangling vets, chatting with owners, and caring for patients than nose deep in a book.
Georgia has worked in general practice, hospital, and farm veterinary settings, and has a wealth of knowledge from her Veterinary Assistant and Client Care roles.
Caitie and Georgia met through colleagues and clicked immediately. Their mutual passion for people and pets drove Georgia to beg Caitie to bring her along with her. (I'm pretty sure she doesn't regret it yet!)
Georgia’s first love is cats and she always has dreamies in her pocket on house calls. Dogs are still sure to win her over with one little tail wag though, so she's probably not that picky…
